Selecting Recording Format

1) press button #4, use the jog dial on the right side of the unit to select the desired format and sampling rate.

2) scroll down, select format, press dial in.

-for audio used in a video project select ".wav 48khz 16 bit"

-for audio used in a recording that would be mastered to cd use ".wav 44.1 khz 16 bit"


Selecting Source

Like the H4, you have the choice of using external mics or the built in mic

1) to use the built in mic select the "mic" button on the front of the unit.

2) to select external mics press 1 & 2.


Recording/ Setting Levels

1) press red record button once

2) use the "rec level" buttons on the right side of the unit to set the proper level.

3) press the red record button again to start recording. press the stop or pause button to stop.

 

Powering a Mic With Phantom Power

If you have a battery operated mic and would like to power it from the unit

1) press "menu"

2) scroll down to "input setting"

3) scroll down to "phantom" and select "+48V"

 


Playback

1) press button #2 ("file")

2) use the jog dial to highlight the file that you want to play. press "play"


Getting Sound Files Onto the Computer

1) with unit turned off , connect it to the computer via USB and power it on.

2) press "menu" button . Then with the jog dial select "usb" then "storage".

3) go into "stereo" folder and drag files to hard drive
