Basic Functions of Panasonic HC X-1000

Setting Operating Mode

-Use "thumbnail" button near front of camera to toggle between playback mode and shooting mode.
-Choose between automatic and manual mode with "IA..Manu" toggle at rear left side of unit.

Choosing Shooting Resolution and Quality

-press "menu" button on left side of camera, select "record setup"
-with "rec mode" you can select your file format (.mov, .mp4, AVCHD, .mp4 LPCM )
-with "rec format" you can select a frame rate and data rate. These are summarized in the table below

Camera Functions

Manual Focus

-toggle "ia..manu" switch to "manual"
-use focus ring (nearst to front of camera) to make adjustments

Manual Exposure/ Iris Adjustment

-press "iris" button to switch to manual mode ('std' disappears on screen)
-move iris ring (furthest from lens) to make adjustments

White Balance

-the camera defaults to automatic white balance. "ATW" is visible on the screen
-to change to a manual mode press "W.B." button

-there are a number of presets that can be accessed by turning the multi-function dial on the left side of the camera
-some of those are P3200K=indoor/ halogen lamps. P5600K= preset for outdoors

For Full Manual Adjustment

1-zoom in on a white surface
2-Set white blance mode to "A ch" or "B ch"
3-press and hold "W.B." button. The camera will adjust and then display "WB set ok"

Audio Capabilities

There are 2 high quality XLR jacks that allow for the seperate adjustment of input levels.
Inputs 1 and 2 can be set to 'Line' (no mic) 'Mic' (external) & '+48v' (external condensor mic).
+48v is phatnom power, which powers a mic that requires a battery.

Setting Mic Levels



-Press "menu. select "audio level ch. 1 or 2"
-select "manual" use dials on side of camera (above) to adjust levels. You will see audio meter on screen.

Playback

-press thumnail button near front of camera. select video clip on touchscreen.
-to delelte a clip just touch the onscreen trashcan icon while clip is playing

Selecting Media Memory

-press "menu" button, select "record setup" then "media slect" to choose the sd card to record on

Transferring Data to Computer

-In thumbnail mode connect to computer via usb
-select "pc" on view screen
-disc will mount like a volume. select files and drag to your hard drive
