Shooting Video with the Canon EOS Rebel T2i and T3i
(d-42-46, c-44) in Media Office

The Canon EOS Rebel T2i shoots with flash memory instead of minidv. It shoots natively in both high definition(HD) and standard definition.

Switching to Camcorder Mode

1) set the dial at the top of the camera to movie mode

Setting White Balance

1) toggle to camcorder mode

2) press Q button to the right of the viewscreen

3) use the arrow key pad to select "AWB" onscreen and use the dial at the front of the camera to select the various white balance modes

"AWB" is auto white balance

Manual Focus

Use the AF/ MF toggle on the left side of the unit. In MF (manual focus ) mode, you adjust the lens to focus. I would not use AF (auto focus) if you are recording with sound as it makes a lot of noise.

Manual Exposure

Hold down the Av/+- button on the back of the unit and use the dial near the front to adjust exposure. ISO, Shutter and aperture are all adjusted automatically

Setting Video Resolution

This camera shoots in high definition and standard definition at a variety of frame rates.
Press the Q button at the right of the view screen and use the arrow to select the resolution choices, which
is the 5th choice on the left side of the screen.

Use the dial to select one of the resolution settings

1920 X 1080 (30fps) , 1920 X1080 (24fps), 1280X720 (60fps) and 640 X480 (60fps)
